Caring for Your Hands and Feet

Manicure are very popular these days as a pair of well-cared for hands forms an important part of good personal grooming. In between manicures, you can concoct treatment using ingredients found in your kitchen to pamper your hands and feet.

1) Salt Glow to Remove Dead Skin Cells

This treatment work wonders to remove dead skin cells from the hands. Besides, the warm sweet almond oil feels wonderfully relaxing and shooting on tired hands. For additional indulgence, you can add a drop of your favourite essential oil to the mixture.


  • 1 Tbsp. Coarse salt
  • 2 Tbstp. Sweet almond oil
  • 1 drop Essential oil (optional)


  • In small dry bowl, mix salt and sweet almond oil
  • Add essential oil if desired


  1. Soak your hands in the mixture and massage your hands with the oil and salt
  2. Rinse off with tepid water and dry

2) Skin Repair Treatment for Rough, and Dry Hands

This treatment works very well to soften, whiten, and moisturise hands which have become dry and rough due to frequent contact with household detergents.


  • 1 Egg yolk
  • 1/2 Tbsp. Olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp. Honey
  • 2/12 Tbsp. Oatmeal


  • Beat the egg yolk and olive oil together
  • Add honey and mix
  • Add oatmeal and mix well to form a paste


  1. Spread evenly onto your hands
  2. Cover with kid gloves and leave on for at least 2 hours
  3. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry

Foot Care

After a long, tired day, it feels good to pamper your feet with a spa treatment. If you are to busy to visit spa for such treatments, you can recreate that experience in the comfort of your home.

3) Apple Cider Vinegar Foot Soak

This is simple , traditional treatment for athlete’s foot, foot odour, as well as fungal growth as well as promote healthier skin pH. You can do this treatment every day until the fungal infection clears up.


  • 3 Cups Apple cider vinegar
  • 5 Cups warm water


  • In a large basin used for soaking feet, mix apple cider vinegar with warm water.


  1. Wash your feet thoroughly with a mild cleanser and warm water. Rinse thoroughly.
  2. Soak your feet for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Remove your feet from the foot soak. Pat dry thoroughly.

4) Avocado Hand and Foot Beautifier

This treatment helps to remove roughness and dead skin cells from your hands and feet, while supplying the skin with nutrients and moisture.


  • 1 Fully ripened avocado
  • 1 Tbsp. Olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp. Lemon juice


  • Mash the avocado to a smooth puree
  • Add lemon juice and olive oil, Mix well


  1. Apply a thin layer evenly on your hands and/or feet and wrap your hands and/or feet with cling wrap.
  2. Relax and allow the ingredients to do their job for an hour.
  3. Rinse off with tepid water and pat dry.
