7 Super Ingredients for Your DIY Beauty Projects

What really goes into the skincare products you use on a daily basis? “Natural”…..”Organic”…what used to be buzz words signifying a “products” wholesome composition are now known mostly as a marketing claims: Overused and Inflated.

To be beautiful naturally and sustainably means to be well and happy as whole person. Our physical well-being is clearly reflected in our glowing skin and complexion, and our emotional health affects our bodies. But is well-being something that takes a lot of effort or money? Wellness is bog business today, and spa, and retreats, fitness club and grooming services can give you the wrong idea-that you are either in or out because of your external appearance. I believe that being well and beautiful is for everyone, not only for the rich or privileged, and that is for everyday not just for special occasions. That is the reason why I write about this post to made your own beauty products at home by using “super ingredients” that you already have at home.

Here are my 7 super ingredients list to made your own beauty products. So, get ready for super blending moods :).

1) LAVENDER

It’s no wonder that lavender is the most popular essential oil in the aromatherapy world. This calming mauve flower is both antiseptic and anti-inflammatory, and it offers a wealth of wonderful attributes-from toning skin and refreshing air to fighting insomnia and dandruff. But, is true gift is its fragrance-just one whiff and you’ll feel transported to Provence, France, where lavender fields in bloom make for an equally dreamy aroma and vista.

HONEY-LAVENDER BATH SOAK

  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 13 1/2-ounce (400ml) can full-fat coconut milk
  • 6 drops lavender essential oil

Whisk the honey with the coconut milk in a medium bowl, then add in the lavender essential oil with a pipette. Por into a warm bath and soak it up.

2) GREEN TEA

No doubt you have heard the many benefits of drinking green tea. But, lets talk about putting the wonder ingredients to work for your face! The antioxidants in green tea work to repair skin and help protect it from the damaging effects of the sun. Plus, green tea’s natural tannins and anti-inflammatory powers soothe irritation and redness-and we can all drink to that!

ANTI-AGING GREEN TEA TONER

  • 1 green tea bag
  • 1cup+2 tablespoons (270ml) distilled water
  • 2 tablespoons pure pomegranate juice

Step the green tea bag in 1 cup (240ml) hot water for 5 minutes, then discard the tea bag and let it cool to room temperature. Dilute the pomegranate juice with the remaining distilled water, the mix with 1/4 cup (60ml) of the cooled green tea. Transfer the mixture to a spray bottle. and use daily after cleansing by applying with a cotton ball or spritzing all over your face and neck.

3) APPLES

Apples contain natural alpha hydroxy acids that gently exfoliate by dissolving dead skin cells, which makes them a great ingredient for getting that healthy glow. And despite its smell, apple cider vinegar is a Rockstar natural beauty ingredient. It utilizes acids to even out skin tone and delivers beneficial vitamins, mineral salts, and amino acids deeper into the skin. These simple apple beauty recipes will nourish your face :).

EXFOLIATING APPLESAUCE MASK

  • 2 tablespoons sugar-free applesauce
  • 1 tablespoon ground oats
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 2 teaspoon lemon juice

Combine the applesauce, oats, honey, and lemon juice in a small bowl. Apply the mixture to your face and neck, leave for about 10 minutes. As you wash off the mask, gently rub in circular motions to slough off dead skin cells. Towel dry and follow u with your favourite moisturizer.

4) HONEY

Who knew this classic sweetener was as good in your hair as in your cup of tea? A natural humectant, honey helps lock in moisture and prevents dry, brittle tresses. But, its healing abilities go beyond hair: Packed with antioxidants, this super ingredients is antibacterial, antifungal, and antiseptic, so it’s also terrific at repairing and protecting skin. Here’s how to get some of its sweetness into your everyday beauty routine.

BANANA-HONEY HAIR REPAIR

  • 1 banana
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Get double the moisture with these two nourishing ingredients. In a blender, combine the banana and honey, pulsing until all the banana pieces are well pureed and you’ve got a smooth mixture. Apply the mask to your hair, taking extra care tp saturate the ends. Wearing a shower cap isn’t necessary, but the heat it creates allows for extra penetration. Wait 20 minutes, then rinse and shampoo to remove the mask.

5) COCONUT OIL

This super ingredients is absolute favourite. One of the most versatile natural beauty products around, coconut oil has a scent that conjures up a relaxing day by the ocean, but it also conditions and nourishes skin and hair like nothing else! it’s naturally antifungal too, making it a soothing moisturizer to use from head to toe. Stock some in your pantry, and all the benefits of a beach vacation will never be more than a jar away.

COCONUT OIL SHAVING CREAM

  • 1/4cup (50g) coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup (80g) fresh aloe-vera gel
  • 4 to 6 drops lavender essential oil

Melt the coconut oil and combine it with the fresh aloe-vera gel and lavender essential oil. Stir together and store in a 6-ounce (180ml) plastic container. When ready to apply, spread a thin layer on your skin and let sit a couple of minutes before shaving. The aloe will soften your follicles for an easier shave, while the coconut oil will moisturize the skin, helping to prevent razor burn and skin irritation.

6) COFFEE

Get ready for a new coffee addiction-turns out your morning brew is excellent for perking up skin! You can use coffee to attack cellulite, dark circle, and dry ski, or embrace its diuretic powers to reduce swelling and puffiness in the a.m. Plus, this bean’s antioxidants fight the free radicals that age skin. Now that’s some coffee you should be happy to wake up and smell! 🙂

COFFEE BANANA FOOT SCRUB

  • 1/4cup (50g) fresh coffee ground
  • 1/4 cup (60g) salt
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) olive oil
  • 1/2 banana

Combine the fresh coffee grounds, salt, olive oil, and 1/2 banana in a bowl. Then sit in an empty tub and slather the mixture allover your feet and lower legs. Let the mixture do its thing for 5 to 10 minutes. Give your feet and legs a really nice, long scrub, then rinse yourself (and the tub) well.

7) BERRIES

Not only are berries a tasty treat, they’re also loaded with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that nourish your skin. Plus, they have tons of vitamin C, which gives your face major boost by destroying in collagen production. These little power houses also pack a punch in alpha hydroxy acids, which exfoliate dead epidermal cells and make berries perfect for dull or acne-prone skin. So save a few from the pie heap for these simple beauty recipes!

BERRY-YOGURT AGE-FIGHTING MASK

  • 2 tablespoons organic full-fat plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup (25g) mixed berries

In a blender combine the yogurt, honey, and mixed berries-try strawberries, blueberries, blackberries whatever the farmer’s market bin has to offer. Pulse until they’re all smooth and combined. Apply to clean skin with your hands; leave on for 10-20 minutes before rinsing off.
